Our story begins with Rob Poolton, a man known for his dedication, skill, and no-nonsense work ethic. Rob spent decades behind the wheel of trucks and at the controls of diggers, laying the groundwork — literally — for countless local projects. Whether it was site cuts, retaining walls, driveways, or drainage, Rob approached every job with pride and precision. He didn’t just build with machines — he built trust in the community.

For Lee, Rob’s son, this world was all he ever knew. Since he can remember, he’s been riding shotgun with his dad, learning the ropes of the excavation trade firsthand — long before he was old enough to hold a license. Growing up around machinery, early starts, muddy boots, and big jobs, it was clear he was born into it.
In a tragic twist of timing, Rob passed away on the very day of his retirement. It was a huge loss — not just to his family, but to everyone who knew him. With little time to reflect, Lee stepped up, putting on his “big boy pants” and taking the reins of the family business. It wasn’t just about keeping the business alive — it was about continuing the legacy Rob had built over a lifetime.

From that moment, Raglan Excavations 2023 Ltd was born — a new name carrying the same core values Rob instilled: honesty, reliability, and a job done right. Today, we’re proud to offer high-quality excavation services across Raglan and surrounding areas, with the same grit and passion that got us here.
